The Pardeeville Physical Education Department acknowledges the research indicating that people who are physically active on a regular basis are healthier than those who are not. Based on this research, the Pardeeville PE Department emphasize developing and challenging student learning to acquire the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence all students need to participate in a wide variety of physical activities during their school years and beyond. Course offerings address learning skills, leading an active lifestyle, understanding physical activity and well-being, and health-enhancing fitness. Instruction for all Physical Education courses is aligned with the Wisconsin’s Standards for Physical Education. The Pardeeville Physical Education Department offers the following courses:
Instruction focuses on increasing competence in physical skills, exploring personal interests in a variety of new physical activities both in and out of the physical education class, and recognizing the benefits of participation in physical activity. Students participate in health-enhancing fitness activities such as games, sports, and adventure activities that contribute toward a healthy lifestyle and feeling good. Student development is assessed by practical and written testing.
Instruction emphasizes regular participation in a variety of sports, games, and activities as well as challenges students to understand the ways in which personal characteristics, performance styles, and activity preferences change over the life span. Students enter activity and competition voluntarily as well as use the results of fitness assessments to guide personal goals towards health related fitness. Activities include traditional games, team sports, individual sports, and Life sports. Student development is assessed by practical and written testing.
Fitness & Wellness
Students will improve their movement skills and cardiovascular fitness levels through the use of non-competitive activities. Students assess personal health-related fitness and develop personal goals to improving areas of muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, and aerobic capacity. Activities include weight lifting, aerobic workouts, kettle ball, Pilates, Tae-Bo, Hip-Hop, and a variety of dance workouts. Student assessment includes practical application, score improvement, written tests, research, and various assignments.
